Mission Statement

To use our skills and successes to volunteer assistance to the less fortunate and offer services, ideas and guidance to individuals and groups that could benefit from our help.

In addition, to provide mentoring and character development for qualified teenagers and young adults, etc. looking to be part of "The Candoits" team of action oriented volunteers as they prepare for adult service organizations, a college or a university, a job or career, a vocation or even adult family life.

Affectionately refered to as 'The Candoits', those qualified volunteers will go that extra mile to see that our efforts exceede even your most demanding expectations. And we will always think of our activities as reaching out directly from our hearts to yours.

It takes quite a bit to keep the teenagers, young adults and others involved and interested and we try to use funds generated from our other activities to keep things running smoothly.

Occasionally we identify a unique opportunity for them and it will take additional funds to pursue those kinds of projects. Once you have had a chance to work with us, you will see the value of that kind of an investment. Until then, you will have to use your best judgement to decide to help us out.

In addition to outside service activities, we plan some educational experiences as well. From Innovative Bible Study to Effective Decision Making, Social Ballroom Dancing, Exercise and Fitness and even the Art of Successful DJ work, we will be keeping them busy and active.

If not Studying, Practicing Sports, Doing Chores or Working a Full or Part-time Job, what else?

It is so easy today to get into a rut of wasting valuable time watching TV, palying games on your computer or mobile device or just hanging out possibly getting yourself into trouble. Not to mention the risk and temptations of drugs and alcohol. We're not suggesting that's you, but being realistic and honest, we understand the pressures you face every day.

So, get a grip! We have found some pretty interesting ways to help you realize Jesus's Enduring Love for you as He has created you to be. Come join us to experience that Love and establish a foundation that will remain with you for the rest of your life. During your upcoming periods of change and likely problems, we want you to realize that He will always be there for you.

So even if checking us out for only a class intro or party or something, give Jesus a chance to come into your life. Then once you start to realize He's there, reach out to us. Then we can help you nurture that Love by helping someone in need through one of the many service oriented groups within your local church or community. You will be forever happy and rewarded that you did.

We are Pro Life. And we actively protect The Elderly, those Disabled and our Youth to see that they are never abused Physically or Emotionally. Also, we oppose 'Group Assault' against an Individual and Discrimination against Any Individual or Group of People.

A number of you are under 18 and you cannot vote yet. However, our t-shirt may provide you with a way to impact voters and exert your influence nonetheless. The front of our shirt reads: Line1 - "VOTE PRO LIFE" Line2 - "NOT PRO CHOICE".

On The Back! Because we strongly believe all the things in the heading above, if anyone really responds to the back of our shirt, they will not likely be guilty of any violations. It reads: Line1 - "Embrace Jesus" Line2 - "Give Life A Chance".

Our Inspirations are certainly varied.

In addition to reading the Bible and daily devotionals, we find inspiration from the people in the Catholic and Christian communities as well.

Spiritual reflections come from The Magnificat, The Eucharist at Catholic Mass, 40 Days for Life, St Catherine's Lenten Mission, The New American Bible, The Knights of Columbus Council #9923 and Affiliated Groups (Columbian Squires, Columbiettes and Squirettes of Mary, Our Lady of Grace), The People at 104.7 & WinShape Foundation's Celebrate Freedom Atlanta 2012, Other Atlanta Area Catholics and Christians, Marietta Workmatters and through Ignatian Spiritually.

The Candoits.

Named in honor of the 'candoit' attitude Bill picked up from his dad George E. Haggerty, born June 14, 1925. After enlisting in the US Army in 1942 as a 17 year old, George served in Germany of 1945 as a 19 year old Staff Seargent. His earlier assignment during WWII was in the 3rd Army Corp in Italy, France & Germany as part of the 15th Infantry Regiment (The 'Can Do' Regiment) from 1942 to 1945. A sentiment picked up in the Army, quite often George would refer to anyone he admired or respected as a 'can do kinda guy'. Ironcally, George actually proved to be a quintessential 'can do kinda guy' himself.

And, while the Jesuits are referred to as 'God's Marines', as Candoits, we will be more than happy yet humbled to be thought of as part of 'God's Army'. In fact, it was the inspiration received during an Igantius House Retreat directed by Fr Al Louapre, SJ that really helped us get this all started in the first place.

There is not much of a challenge that we can't handle, but if there ever is, we know where to turn, The Crossed Keys.
